Windsor Dance eXperience Inc. is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers,   encouraging youth throughout the community to develop an appreciation for the fine arts. We aim to provide the ultimate theatrical  experience to anyone who has the heart and love for the arts.  We offer many opportunities to work in all aspects of theatre:  backstage, costume design and set construction, and last but not least, performing experience. We exist so that those who haven't the means or outlet to dance can now do so. Windsor Dance eXperience believes in understanding its members and recognizes them as individuals with unique ideas and styles. To become a member of WDX, we don't require experience, we give it.

Windsor Dance eXperience started out with auditions held at Water World on Saturday May 31, 2003 and Sunday June 1, 2003. Everyone who came out made a part for our first full length production of Gwenevere.

On September 1, 2003 our rehearsals were moved to our current location at St. George Anglican Church at 1949 Devonshire Court. Our dancers are made up of a junior and senior program who start their morning practices with a rigorous warm up session and the practice of some technical movements which we refer to as "across the floor". In 2008 the intermediate program was introduced.

The company is run purely on the efforts of volunteers and our generous sponsors.

One great aspect about this company is that it encourages everyone, young and old, to come out and enjoy performing. It also provides a positive pastime for youths and a great learning environment for acting and dancing. Also, youths are able to gain volunteer experience because any hours that a member puts into the organization can be credited toward volunteer hours.

Tiffany Wentzell- Artistic Director
Tiffany C. Wentzell founded Windsor Dance eXperience Inc. with the help of Julia Galli on May 12th, 2003. Starting with 20 members the company has now grown to over 50 members. Tiffany started off as a dancer from Nova Scotia. When she moved to Windsor, she discovered the world of Dance Theatre, where the 4th wall is removed and there are no mirrors to bounce your emotion right back at you. Instead, the dancer is given the power to make an audience member feel something, or possibly change their view on a particular matter. Tiffany graduated from the WCCA program and joined Live Energy Dance Theatre as a dancer and soon became a choreographer. During the years of 1999-2001, Tiffany took on the role of Artistic Director, opening with a new take on Sleeping Beauty. She discovered she would rather create beautiful things than perform them, so her true passion resided in choreography and directing. In 2003, WDX was born with a program for young dancers as well, in hopes of creating a family oriented company. Since then she has worked with Ballet Jorgen for three years as the Youth Rehearsal Mistress, Theatre Alive as the co-choreographer of “Tommy”, Riverfront Theatre Company as choreographer for “Midsummer Night's Dream” as well as three different collaborations with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. We believe that dance doesn't just provide technique lessons but also life lessons such as discipline and learning how to work with a team. We recognize all of our dancers as individuals with unique qualities in hopes that they learn to love them, embrace them and share them with the rest of the community.
